Cancer Insurance
Pays direct to policyholder to cover unforeseen expenses that one can incur out of pocket during the treatment of cancer. Certain carriers offer up to $100 wellness incentive and guaranteed issue provisions. This policy is based on medical events surrounding the treatment of these illnesses. The policy is typically not age rated, rather one rate for entire span of ages (18 to 64). Typical rates range from $4.50 to $8.00 weekly.
Intensive Care Insurance
Pays direct to a policyholder for confinement to the highest level of care in a hospital (ICU, CCU, Neonatal, Burn Unit).. A daily amount is paid per day of confinement, and some policies double the benefit for vehicular accident. This plan is typically offered as a rider to another policy. Typical rates range from $1.50 to $3.00 weekly.
Heart/Stroke Insurance
Pays direct to the policyholder in the event of diagnosis for Heart Disease, Heart Attack, or Stroke. This policy is based on medical events surrounding the treatment of these illnesses. The policy is typically not age rated, rather one rate for entire span of ages (18 to 64). Typical rates range from $4.30 to $8.00 weekly.
Critical Illness Insurance
This policy pays a LUMP SUM direct to the policyholder in the event of diagnosis of a major critical illness as defined by the company (ie. Cancer, Heart Attack, Stroke, Kidney Failure, Organ Transplant, etc.) This plan is very easy to claim on. Popular features include an additional occurrence benefit that pays for more than one illness, and a reoccurrence benefit that pays for the same illness more than once. Guaranteed issue options are available for this plan with certain carriers. This policy is age rated, but premiums do not increase as the policyholder ages. Typical rates start at $2.00 weekly
Accident Insurance
This policy is designed to cover active lifestyles. Benefits pay direct to the policyholder to assist with ER visits, fractures, dislocations, hospital confinements, etc. Some carriers offer guaranteed issue provisions for this policy, and it is typically rated for an entire span of ages (18 to 64). The plan can be designed to be offered either on/off or off job only. Typical rates range from $4.90 to $11.00 weekly.
Hospital Indemnity Insurance
This policy is designed to cover expenses associated with a hospital confinement. It pays directly to the policyholder when admitted to the hospital, to assist in offsetting deductibles and coinsurance amounts. Some carriers have a guaranteed issue provision for this plan. Typical rates range from $5.50 to $12.00 weekly.
GAP Insurance
This plan is designed to pay the policyholder directly to cover deductibles and coinsurance amounts. It is a group based policy, requiring medical insurance to be in place, and typically employer contributions. Some carriers provide a guaranteed issue provision. Rates range dramatically on this plan based on design and coverage elections.
Disability Insurance
Many options are available to assist a policyholder in the event they are unable to work due to illness or injury. Voluntary worksite disability does not have participation requirements, but is subject to underwriting. Group plans are available as well, allowing for guaranteed issue and no pre-existing conditions. Rates range dramatically on this plan based on design and coverage elections.
Universal Life Insurance
This life insurance plan provides a policyholder with permanent life insurance that builds cash value. Typically underwriting is limited. Many carriers now offer a buy up feature that is guaranteed the first five years, allowing policyholders to increase coverage gradually without an initial high expense. A long term care accelerated death benefit option is also available, for companies interested in offering long term care with simplified underwriting. Typically rates start around $4.00 weekly
Long Term Care Insurance
This policy is designed to assist in extended stays in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and for at home nursing. It can be offered individually, or on a group platform, and is gaining in popularity for key management carve outs. Certain carriers have excellent rates and guaranteed issue provisions as well. Rates dramatically range on this plan.
Minimedical Insurance
This policy is designed for clients who do not currently offer medical insurance to anyone, or a class of employees, due to expense. This policy works the same as major medical insurance with certain restrictions on annual maximum payouts. It typically comes with a guaranteed issue provision. Rates range dramatically on this plan based on plan design.
Term Life Insurance
This policy provides policyholders with affordable life insurance with stable rates for a specified period of time (ie. 20 years). Spouses and children can be covered without covering the employee, and simplified underwriting is available.
Section 125 / Flexible Spending Accounts
This service is available to assist both employers and employees with significant tax relief allowed through Section 125 of the internal revenue code. EBC can implement POP and Flex 125 service through independent Third Party Administrators
